Maude was the real start of having a "show" dog. I did all my training and learning on and with her.
Maude was named after the "Golden Girls" TV program. Bea Arthur played "Maude". Her nickname was "Maudie Potts"
Maude was a survivor of Parvo, back in the days when multiple, live vaccines were given starting at 6 weeks of age!
She was a great Mom to both puppies and human children.
She found obedience training boring but loved to go to see her best friends, Lottie, a harl Dane and Erik, a Golden Retriever. She got one leg on her CD and then would look at me like, "Been there. Done that. Not gonna repeat it again" End of obedience career!
Maude lived to be a few months shy of her 11th birthday.
